Ecotextyle: formación en productos sostenibles para la industria del calzado y textil

NS_Web_ecotextyle

“Ecotextyle” is a 24-month European project funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme, the aim of which is to train employees in the textile and footwear sectors in sustainable production. Coordinated in Spain by the Footwear Technology Centre (CTR) in La Rioja and Neo Sapiens, it has the collaboration of organisations and universities in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom.

During the event, special attention will be paid to small and medium-sized enterprises and also to training centres in which the PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology will be implemented in line with future European policies. The idea is to work together and exchange best practices related to the training of workers responsible for environmental product management within SMEs and to provide them with the necessary skills and competences for an adequate development of their professional profiles (at local or international level). To achieve this, the partners organisations of the project will create an online platform from which the different courses will be offered virtually, but there will also be face-to-face workshops in different languages, dealing with aspects such as product life cycle analysis, eco-design, carbon footprint, environmental labelling, environmental product declaration, etc. The “Ecotextyle” project will therefore provide producers in the textile and footwear sector with the necessary training and self-assessment tools to launch more environmentally friendly products on the market through more sustainable processes.

Thanks to this transnational collaboration between the countries involved in the project, different exercises, contents and products will be developed, tested and edited in cooperation with managers of non-profit and private entities of the textile and footwear sector, which will later be adapted to their realities and contexts. For more information on the objectives, timetable, activities and results or products developed during this project, please consult the sections at the bottom of this page.
