GREEN DIVERSITY? Inspirar a la juventud a perseguir la justicia climática mediante sus acciones

The global ecological crisis affects us whoever we are, but not in the same way. Many of the educational measures used to raise awareness of this issue lack sensitivity to this imbalance. Furthermore, the agents represented as change agents and awareness-raising activists (trainers, volunteers, activists and participants) tend to come from a well-educated middle-class background, while people with lower incomes, educational disadvantages or migration backgrounds are underrepresented.

The life and professional experiences of people living in economically and socially disadvantaged countries are conspicuous by their absence in educational work around climate justice and sustainability. Current activities and methods do not cover the diversity of voices, experiences and issues that affect millions of young people around the world. Green movements need new voices, coming from people who are experiencing climate change on their own skin, and who are not usually the main face of many climate action initiatives.

“Green Diversity succeeded in creating digital and face-to-face spaces for the wide diversity of voices on climate change to be heard. As a result of this international and inclusive approach, educational materials (inclusive events, digital storytelling products on climate change, etc.) were developed for activists around the world to promote climate and sustainability action at local and regional levels.
